![]() There are some elements of the position that could force you out of your comfort zone. I was fortunate enough to have that at my location. Doing this, along with having a strong support system with your staff and management is vital to avoid burn out. Set aside specific time to rest, engage in social events, spend time with family etc and stick with that plan. Here's a tip become as disciplined as you can with managing your free time. Nonetheless, any personal training job is going to require quite a bit of sacrifice. It can be quite a physical and mental drain if you are the only trainer at your location as well. Sleep can be hard to come by, which can be a bit counter-intuitive for someone who's supposed to be looked at as a beacon for health and wellness. A typical day starts around 3:45 am and doesn't end to about 8:30 pm. Ultimately as the head trainer, you're going to dictate the vibe of your gym, so it's imperative that you bring high energy and focus to each and every camp. There's an emphasis put on trainers to help clients meet weight, fitness and health goals which in turn helps build a passionate environment in the gym. If you have a strong passion for training and helping people achieve their goals, this is a good company to work for. Burn cooperate sends the workouts they want done and then the trainers can vary the workouts slightly. The head trainer that was training me was just making up workouts and changed them each session. She wasn’t allowed to train me even tho she said she was also confused as to why. They had another trainer that had been there for 4 years and was extremely knowledgeable of procedures and even took time between sessions to go over the workouts. The head trainer that they chose to train me was only there for 2 weeks before I was hired. I was given no advance knowledge of this and would have been practicing the exercises on my own time. I found out after googling there’s a fitness test that is required to pass. There is no system to look at names and faces outside of the actual Bootcamp session. I was expected to know all 200 members names after being there 3 days. I had zero experience with Burn before being hired so most of the terminology was made up by the trainer not real exercise terms. I needed a stop watch that wasn’t provided. I was told I just didn’t get access to that. I wasn’t given a structured work out to prepare myself. The head trainer never discussed anything with me besides negatives. After being critiqued I was able to see the check points. ![]() I was humiliatingly thrown in front of 25 women to coach not prepared in anyway the particular set ups they were looking for. Would not have excepted position had I known they didn’t plan to train me on burn coaching. The owners have zero communication skills.
